As home to some of the top winning Pekingese and Shih Tzu in the United States we are very proud of our dogs and their history; but we never forget that our dogs, first and foremost, are companion dogs.

We were fortunate to have been mentored by some of the most recognized breeders and exhibitors of our breeds. The mentoring we initially received represented over 150 years of breed experience and through the sharing of their knowledge and experience our mentors developed the foundation of TAO REGENCY KENNELS.

From this foundation grew the realization that we are mere trustees of a particular vision of what the ideal Pekingese and or Shih Tzu should be and it is this vision that is our goal and purpose!

We acquired our first Shih Tzu in 1993 and our first Pekingese the next year and from there the storied history of TAO REGENCY KENNELS began.

From our first litter, where CH. Tao Regency’s St. Claire won Best of Opposite Sex at the prestigious Pekingese Club of America Roving Specialty in 1996 to her son Am. & Int’l CH. Tao Regency’s Lord of the Jungle who went on to become on of the top winning Pekingese in Japan. We also campaigned Am. & Int’l. CH. Carr’s Top Brass who went on to win Best of Breed at the Pekingese Club of America New York Specialty, Best of Breed at Westminster Kennel Club, and is currently in the history books as the Number #1 owner handled Pekingese of all time!

Our Shih Tzu, CH. Tao Regency’s Tiffany Fuzzbud won Best of Opposite Sex at the very competitive Progressive Dog Show in New York City in 1998. In turn CH. Fuzzbud’s Daisy Mae Dancer was a multiple group placing winner as was her son, CH. Tao Regency’s Alexander the Great.

This is just a short history, and we are proud of all our dogs; whether group winners, champions, or just affectionate companions. They represent to us in totality a proud history of a vision and ideal that existed before Tao Regency Kennels and one that will continue on after us…
